2008 Priorities

2008 Priorities

Our first five years have been fruitful.  After five years of dedicated service, our founding Directors have moved forward to establish a new ministry.  The Board of Directors of the BACC have taken a much more active role in the management of daily activities. In 2008 our plate is full with the following priorities:

  1. Continue to deliver quality programs in our core competency areas of homework club, after school programs, and the creative arts.  Keep Christ at the center of everything we do.
  2. Improve our facility especially in the areas of security and safety.  We want to be a shining light within the city.
  3. Partner with like-minded local ministries like the Encuentro Latino (who meet at 570 Olive St. every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month), County Corrections Gospel Ministry (who serve many of the same families) and the local churches in the Coatesville neighborhood.
  4. Seek permanent directors who will manage our facility and programs through on-site presence and oversight daily.
  5. Offer a significant volunteer experience for teachers, assistants, group leaders, tutors, etc. that have a heart for God’s children in Coatesville. Link to volunteers page.
  6. Build a comprehensive after school program for the important hours between 3 and 6 p.m. where often our students are home alone.
  7. Evaluate how to maximize our presence in the neighborhood via a needs assessment (example: is there a pressing need for Christian day care in the local community?).  How can we reach the parents, as well as their children?
  8. Utilize our computer resources and capabilities to their maximum potential.  Find volunteer leaders who can complete our network, and also build and execute PC-based curriculums to advance learning.
  9. Involve the local community in leadership, programs and missions.  The best way to build the BACC is with neighborhood talent.
  10. Build the volunteer, prayer and funding base to sustain this ministry for years into the future.  Local churches, individuals and corporate sponsors can purchase a “share” of the BACC to support BACC operations and activities.
